Hugh David Ziegler, 76, of Scott City died Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 27, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to Theodore Charles and Celestia Grace LeDure Ziegler.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

David is survived by his loving companion, Karen Smith of Jackson; two sisters, Darlene Duff of Scott City and Vivian (Pat) Buehrle of Ballwin, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Glastetter and Lavana Faye Jacobs; and a infant brother, August Jacob Ziegler.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial with full military honors will be in the church cemetery.
