CENTRALIA, Mo. -- Shirley Cook, 80, daughter of the late Clarence Held and Betilla Rose Gosche, was born Nov. 15, 1941, in New Hamburg, Missouri, and departed her life Friday, April 22, 2022, at her daughter's home in Centralia. On Nov. 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Cook in Scott City. He preceded her in death May 18, 1987...

CENTRALIA, Mo. -- Shirley Cook, 80, daughter of the late Clarence Held and Betilla Rose Gosche, was born Nov. 15, 1941, in New Hamburg, Missouri, and departed her life Friday, April 22, 2022, at her daughter's home in Centralia.

On Nov. 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to William "Bill" Cook in Scott City. He preceded her in death May 18, 1987.

Shirley was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She was a former dietary aide for Chateau Girardeau and a former resident of Scott City.

Survivors include a daughter, Jamie (Dean) Egan of Centralia; two brothers, Ronnie Held of Chaffee, Missouri, and Gilbert Held of Norman, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mary Lee and Kay Stull, both of Scott City; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Cook, and a brother, Norman Held.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
