Mona Palermo

Mona Palermo, 89, of Jackson passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Jackson Manor.

She was born July 29, 1932, in New Madrid, Missouri.

Mona attended Cape Girardeau Central High School and worked at the old Saint Francis Hospital. There she met her husband, Vincent James Palermo, and became a homemaker. She loved collecting, repairing and selling antique dolls and jewelry.

Survivors include three sons, Allan (Mary) Palermo of Jackson and Gary and Joseph Palermo of Cape Girardeau; sister, Clara Thomas of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

Mona was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Woods McGill; husband, Vincent Palermo; three brothers; two sisters; one great grandchild; and daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Palermo.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Jamie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery.
