Jerry Wayne Maevers, 69, of Jackson passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Jackson Manor. Jerry was born Nov. 9, 1952, to Norman and Linda Henry Maevers in Cape Girardeau. He and Patti Copeland were married June 5, 1982, in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching football. Jerry Wayne Maevers, 69, of Jackson passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Jackson Manor.

Jerry was born Nov. 9, 1952, to Norman and Linda Henry Maevers in Cape Girardeau. He and Patti Copeland were married June 5, 1982, in Cape Girardeau.

He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching football. He was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his loving wife of almost 40 years, Jerry is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Seth) Williams of Cape Girardeau and April (Caden) Gordon of Lee's Summit, Missouri; a brother, Ron Maevers of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren, Malachi, Ksenia, Finnian and Eilish Williams, all of Cape Girardeau, and Casen Gordon of Lee's Summit.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at New McKendree United Methodist Church on High Street in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church with the Revs. Bryan Wendling and Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form on contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church.
