CORINTH, Miss. -- George Edward Russell, 73, was received by his Lord Jesus Christ Thursday, May 19, 2022.

He was born in St. Louis Oct. 16, 1948, and then raised on a farm in Farmington, Missouri. He was taught by his loving parents, Leo and Neoma Russell, the importance of family, hard work and Jesus. He shared many stories about working alongside his dad on the farm and the many memories he made alongside his baby sister, Peggy.

He graduated from Ste. Genevieve (Missouri) High School in 1966 and soon started his family that included his first baby girl, Diana Lynn, in 1967. Sheila Ann was born in 1968. The family was complete when Jennifer Joy arrived in 1977.

George started his own trucking business, Poplar Bluff Express, in April 1974 and later owned and operated Springhill Farm and Garden Center in Saltillo, Mississippi.

Besides his girls, he was proud of his loving wife of over 40 years, Sammie Carolyn Russell. They loved to travel together, garden and spend time with family and friends. George never met a stranger and loved to share his vast array of jokes with all. He loved to host, grill and entertain.
