Anna Mae Campbell, 87, of Oak Ridge passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the Arbors at Auburn Creek in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 7, 1934, in Kelso, Missouri, to John W. and Bertha I. Scherer. She and Norman H. Campbell were married May 7, 1960, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Anna was a graduate of Jackson High School. She worked at the International Shoe Company in Jackson. After she and Norman married, she fully devoted her time to taking care of her family. She always put out a huge garden, canning and sharing much of her produce.

When the children were well into their school years, she went to work at Thorngate, Ltd., in Cape Girardeau and later Jackson Manor in Jackson. Anna enjoyed family gatherings, especially cooking for everyone. She made sure no one went away hungry.

Loving survivors include five children, Jeff Campbell (fiancee Shelley Dodd) of Millersville, Debbie (Dennis) Way of Jackson, Derek (Yvonne) Campbell of Kelso, Laura (Brad) Hopkins of Millersville and Karen (Russell) Marks of Jackson; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha "Jeannie" Wilkinson of Jackson.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Norman Campbell; her parents; a daughter-in-law, Michele Kincy Campbell; two sisters, Rita Steinnerd and Shirley Warren; and two brothers, John and Alfred Kirn.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Randolf Tochtrop officiating. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
