Milford Carlton Fluegge, 88, of Millersville passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Tilsit, son of Robert L. and Martina Peetz Fluegge. He and Judie Probst were married Sept. 8, 1984. She passed away July 7, 2017...

Milford Carlton Fluegge, 88, of Millersville passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Tilsit, son of Robert L. and Martina Peetz Fluegge. He and Judie Probst were married Sept. 8, 1984. She passed away July 7, 2017.

Milford enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 4, 1952, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was honorably discharged Aug. 23, 1973, with the rank of sergeant first class. After he retired from the Navy, Milford worked at various jobs in the community before going into farming full time.

Loving survivors include four children, Judy (Robie) Hodge Roberts of Cape Girardeau and Theresa (Greg) Houchin, Jeff (Kellie) Fluegge and Kelly "Liz" Fluegge, all of Jackson. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Milford was preceded in death by his wife, Judie; four siblings, Charles and Bryon Fluegge and Evelyn Moore and Marjorie Hoehne; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Russell Height Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Missouri Veterans Home (Recreational Fund) or Millersville United Methodist Church.
