John Moss

John Walter Moss, 65, of Jackson died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 28, 1956, in Chaffee, Missouri, to Lloyd Henry and Esther Ellen Welker Moss. He married Sheila Jean Keys on Nov. 23, 2006, in Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila of Jackson; a son, James (Sarah) Moss of Scott City; two stepsons, James (Julie) Ryan of St. Louis and Robert (Casey) Schearf of Delta; a daughter, Paula (Susan) Moss of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Veronica Schearf of Cape Girardeau; and many other sons and daughters who called him Dad; two sisters, Teresia (James) Angelroth and Lisa (Ted) Hooker of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Moss.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ken Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
