Geneva B. Ruesler, 86, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau. She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Friedheim, daughter of Jessie L. and Opal Crites Seabaugh. She and Darwin F. Ruesler were married Dec. 23, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 2000...

Geneva B. Ruesler, 86, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Friedheim, daughter of Jessie L. and Opal Crites Seabaugh. She and Darwin F. Ruesler were married Dec. 23, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. He preceded her in death Aug. 16, 2000.

Geneva was baptized at Sargent's Chapel on Oct. 23, 1938. She was a member of New Salem Church for five years, until she joined her husband at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. They moved to Jackson, where she and Darwin became longtime members at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Geneva worked for Ralph Edwards Sportswear for 24 years and was supervisor for 21 of those years. She then worked at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau for five years and Tri-Con for four years, and sat with the elderly in their homes for 12 years. She was also a hospice volunteer for eight years.

Loving survivors include two children, Kenneth (Pat) Ruesler of Jackson and Debbie Sue (Lenzel) Jaco of Millersville; five grandchildren, Gretchen (Josh) Featherston, Corey (Amanda) Ruesler, Jesse Ruesler, Richard Jaco and Amy (Clay) Church; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren Hazelwood, Leigh Ann Moore, Alex Featherston, Kaden Featherston, Stella Ruesler, Cooper Featherston, Brooklyn Ruesler, Ella Church and Collin Church; and four great-great-grandchildren, Perry Hazelwood V, Lilli Overbey, Colton Overbey and Jameson Beasly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Geneva was preceded in death by three brothers, Josph, Leo and Leroy Seabaugh; and a sister, Annis Heuring.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alex Lukefahr officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
