Dennis Long

Dennis Neil Long, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to the late Benton and Louise Revelle Long. Dennis and Marlene Kielhofner were married Jan. 6, 1973. They were looking forward to celebrating 50 years together.

Dennis worked in sales for Auto Tires and Parts. He previously had worked at Jim Wilson and Harris Truck and Trailer.

He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. There was no job or task too silly or small for him to take on to show his love for his family. His friends will miss him at all the "safety meetings."

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Long; son, Jonathan (wife, Shauna) Long of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Alexis Long (husband, Ceton Nervo) of Oviedo, Florida; and grandchildren, Myka Louise and Lachlan Daniel Long.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with Pastor Linda Gastreich officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the service. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Missouri.
