KELSO, Mo. — Jeremy Scott Essner, 30, of Kelso died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at his home.

He was born Jan. 16, 1992, in Cape Girardeau to Donald and Clara Eftink Essner.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and University of Missouri in Columbia.

Jeremy was an avid sports fan, with his favorite being baseball. He was very creative and showed his woodworking skills through toys he made for the kids. He loved to grill outside and make up his own recipes.

He will be forever remembered for his big heart and sparkle in his eyes. He was a stranger to no one. Jeremy had a soft heart for the little ones and loved to tease them.

He is survived by his parents, Donald and Clara Essner of Kelso; daughter, Tatum Essner of Columbia, Missouri; brother, Jacob (Lindsey) Essner of Cape Girardeau; sister, Julie (Bryan) Glosemeyer of Cape Girardeau; and paternal grandmother, Clara H. Essner of Kelso; nieces, Autumn and Sadie; nephews, Chase, Bryson, Simon, Jameson, Callen and Camden; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the church, with the Rev. Tom Wilk as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Augustine School or Notre Dame Regional High School.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
