Ronald Lee Garner, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at his home. He was born Aug. 7, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Vernice and Mildred Moore Garner. Ronald Lee Garner, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Vernice and Mildred Moore Garner.

At the age of 9 years old, Ronald began his farming career by driving a tractor for his dad on their family farm. He became a lifelong farmer and raised cattle and hogs. He served as an MFA board member.

Ronald was a faithful Christian and served as a church deacon. He loved antique cars, attending car races, traveling, playing cards and dominoes. He treasured spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was his highest priority and his greatest joy.

Ronald and Patsy Welch were united in marriage Oct. 26. 1962, at Advance, Missouri. During their 60-year marriage, they were blessed with three children.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Garner; two sons, Tabb (Allison) Garner and Todd (Becky) Garner; a daughter, Tasha Garner; 13 grandchildren, Anna, Lydia, Cordon (Morgan), Caden, Cason, Jacob, Alyssa (Seth), Joel, Jacob, Maddie, Abby, Caroline and Ridge; seven great-grandchildren, Tanner, Conner, Harper, Cameron, Oakley, Colden and Collyns; two brothers, Don and Gary Garner; and two sister, Saundra Rehm and Gayle Simmons.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the church, with the Rev. James Guerrero officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of arrangements.
