William Henry "Bill" Baker II, 69, of Cape Girardeau peacefully passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center. William Henry "Bill" Baker II, 69, of Cape Girardeau peacefully passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1952, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Virgil Lee and LaVerna Maxine Spain Baker. He and Patricia Joann Baker were married July 8, 1978, in Cape Girardeau at St. Mary's Cathedral.

Bill attended and graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1971. He was a salesman for Kohlfeld Distributing for many years.

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time on the beach. He also enjoyed bird watching, grilling, making sausage and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Cape Girardeau; two sons, William H. Baker III of St. Louis and Ronald Baker of Cape Girardeau; sister, Patricia (John) Thomas of Farmington, Missouri; and nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Virgil Lee Baker Jr.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Malone officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau at later date.
