Amy S. Gibbs, 42, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 26, 2022.

She began her career in nursing as a licensed practical nurse in 2003, became a registered nurse in 2007, and then earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017. She was lead charge nurse for Saint Francis Medical Center Emergency Department, where she worked since 2010.

Amy was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church, had served the Lord on many medical mission trips and coached her girls' soccer, softball and basketball teams.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Gibbs; daughters, Lillian, Maggie and Claire; her mother, Janelle Hobbs Snell; father, William E. "Bill" Snell; sister, JoEtta (Younes) Lafdi; Chris' parents, Bill and Karen Gibbs; Chris' siblings, Scott (Laurie) Gibbs and Emily (Drew) Witvoet; and many nieces, nephews and other beloved family, friends and co-workers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Lynwood Baptist Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at the church, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorials be made to Camp Barnabas, a special needs camp. Envelopes will be available at the church, or donations can be made online to www.campbarnabas.org.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
