Lacey White, 35, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 at her home.

She was born March 30, 1987, in Cape Girardeau to Andrew White and Brenda Carol Thompson Elliott. She and Coby McHughs were married in 2020 at Cape Girardeau.

She was a registered behavioral technician at SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence Inc. (SADI) in Cape Girardeau.

She was a member of East Prairie Victory Baptist Church.

She had a love for animals and nature, and put a bright inspiration on her family and everyone she knew.

Survivors include her husband, Coby McHughs of Cape Girardeau; mother, Brenda Elliott of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Casey White of Morehouse, Missouri, and John (Kelly) Scarbrough of Waynesville, Missouri; a sister, Dawn (Gregory) Shaver of Monroe, North Carolina; paternal-grandfather, Ed White of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Ashley Darlene Rose Shaw; and paternal grandmother, Fannie White.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 7, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at noon Saturday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 359 Cree Lane, Jackson, MO 63755, or Victory Baptist Church, 725 W. Washington St., East Prairie, MO 63845 in memory of Lacey's name.
