Diane Morgan was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Dr. Elmo and Bessie Carter Biddison. She passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She married Dr. Willard J. Morgan in Newcastle, Wyoming, on June 20, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2021.

Diane was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her family came first. She was an accomplished musician and singer; coming in second in a National Radio Show Competition. She was valedictorian of her high school class at Des Moines High School.

She was a skilled typist, typing PhD dissertations for many of the faculty at Southeast Missouri State University. Her skill was recognized by the university staff members who would call her frequently regarding the correct use of footnotes, form, etc. One did not challenge her vocabulary or spelling skills.

She was active in church activities. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 40 years, visited shut-ins, served meals on wheels, went to Bible study and was a member of mission groups and secretary of the administrative board.

Survivors include a son, Craig (Rhonda) Morgan of Marco Island, Florida; two daughters, Lori (James) Zimmer of Cape Girardeau and Tracie (David) Feuerhahn of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years; brother, Eddie Biddison; and a grandson, Michael Zimmer.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial service will be at noon Wednesday, March 1, at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Alex Niswonger and Adelaide Parsons officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
