J.T. Gregory

J.T. Gregory, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Lurton, Arkansas, the son of George and Vernie Beare Gregory.

J.T. was a lifetime row crop farmer and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. He believed in the Assembly of God faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

J.T. and Virginia Hampton were united in marriage Jan. 2, 1960, in Bell City, Missouri, and she preceded him in death Dec. 16, 2021.

Survivors include a son, Dale (Bonita) Gregory of Rocky Mount, Missouri; daughter, Donna Gregory of Cape Girardeau; sister, Ellen West of Arab, Missouri; five grandchildren, Shannon, Landon, Jordan, Lacey and Tylor; and six great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brantley, Temerance, Elijah, Braylen and Avery.

J.T. was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; brother, Chester; and four sisters, Edith, Edna, Crettie and Larnia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kim Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
