Ronnie Asher, 67, of Jackson passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born July 9, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, son of Delmar and Rosemary Drum Asher. He and Patti Friedrich were married July 6, 1974, at St. John's United Church of Christ.

Ronnie started his working career at the handle factory in Jackson. In 1978, he went to work for Lenco, where he remained until his retirement July 5, 2018. After retirement, he enjoyed helping his brother-in-law, Randy, on the farm. Over the years, Ronnie taught himself how to be a farrier and broke horses. Ronnie loved riding and traveling on his Harley with Patti. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting, horseback riding, camping, guitar picking and, years ago, black powder rendezvous. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family, and his pride and joys were his children and grandchildren.

Loving survivors include his wife, Patti Asher; three children, Laura (Kris) Daniel, Renee Asher, all of Jackson, and Ryan (Whitney) Asher of Advance, Missouri; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Greyson Daniel, Adley and Gracie Asher; and his mother, Rosemary Asher of Jackson.

Also surviving are siblings, Tom (Peg) Asher of Jackson, Peggy Benson of St. Louis, Gary (Debbie) Asher and Rhonda (Gary Green) Weston, all of Jackson.
