STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. — Delores Marlene Meyr Wallman, 88, formerly of Pocahontas, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Riverview at the Park Nursing Center in Ste. Genevieve.
She was formerly a longtime resident of Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 20, 1935, at the family home in New Wells to George J. and Mildred F. Huttegger Meyr.
Delores was baptized into the Christian faith Feb. 3, 1935, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. She made a public profession of that faith April 10, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended Immanuel Lutheran School in New Wells.
Delores was married to Ernst H. Wallman on April 28, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. Ernst preceded her in death March 20, 2001.
She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
Survivors include one brother, Dean (Delores) Meyr of Friedheim; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Hoffman of New Wells and Verna Koenig of Farrar, Missouri; nine nieces; six nephews; and many great-grandnieces and -nephews.
Delores was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruby Koenig-Steffens and Carol Kaufmann; and two nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the church, with the Rev. Virgil Kelm officiating. Delores' body will be laid to rest at the church cemetery, where it will await the glorious resurrection when Christ returns.
Memorial donations may take the form of contributions to Zion Lutheran Church.
