Rebecca Sue Crippen Baldwin of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of 84.

Rebecca was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Delight, Arkansas, to Carl R. and Ruby Dell Taylor.

She was a member of Abbey Road Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.

Rebecca and Harold Wayne Crippen married Aug. 9, 1959, in Dexter, Missouri. Wayne preceded her in death. She and Charles R. Baldwin were married Aug. 3, 2013, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Rebecca grew up in Stoddard County, Missouri, and was a graduate of Dexter High School in 1956. She received a bachelor's degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1959 and a master's degree in 1968. She taught at Lindbergh; Webster Groves, Missouri; Dexter and Chaffee, Missouri, public schools; and Saxony Lutheran.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Baldwin of Cape Girardeau; son, Steven (Lisa) Crippen of Oran, Missouri; daughter, Michelle (David) Dalton of Grenada, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Dean Crippen of Columbia, Missouri, Brent (Jillian) Dalton of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Thomas Crippen of Kansas City, Missouri, Carl Dalton of Grenada, John Crippen of Cape Girardeau and Drew Rebecca Dalton of Grenada; a niece, Susan (Nadim) Aziz of Cary, North Carolina; four stepsons, Charles D. (Sandra) Baldwin of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Bradly S. (Christine) Baldwin of Waterloo, Illinois, David (Joy) Baldwin of Cape Girardeau and Mark (Kelly) Baldwin of Springfield, Missouri; 13 stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Elaine Schoepf officiating.

A private graveside burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
