Richard Freeman II

Richard Steven Freeman II, son of the late Steven Freeman and Deborah (Jeff Darnell) Freeman, was born April 12, 1981, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 42.

On Jan. 30, 2021, he married Lillian Seabaugh in Jackson. She survives.

Richard loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, creek walking and collecting rocks. He was a truck driver for more than 10 years and also a union roofer for more than 10 years. He never met a stranger he didn't like and was very outgoing. He was a very caring individual and was very family oriented.

Also surviving apart from his wife and mother are one son, Jacob Freeman of Jackson; daughter, Brianna Freeman of Jackson; two stepsons, Garrett (Wynter) Seabaugh-Miller of Whitewater and Wrangler Mayfield of Patton, Missouri; stepdaughter, Mahala (Trevor) Turner of Patton; three grandchildren, Sophie, Harper and Hallie Turner; two sisters, Starla Ricks and Christian (Ashley) Freeman; stepsister, Ashley Darnell; stepbrother, Lloyd Darnell; 10 nieces and nephews, Carmen Alejandro, David Alejandro, Harmonie McGee, Darius Johnson, Carly Wood, Anna Carlisle, Jesse Riegert, Freya Dawn, Kimberly Seabaugh and Kara Milam; great-nephew, Hudson McGee; and father-in-law, Larry Seabaugh.

Apart from his father, Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Boyce and Barbara Freeman and Johnny and Ellen Kiefer; his mother-in-law, Mary Edna Seabaugh; brother-in-law, Clark Seabaugh; and several aunts and uncles.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
