Barbara Ann Oberbeck, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1947, in Cape Girardeau to Clarence A. and Cora Best Oberbeck.
Barbara was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.
She worked for 13 years for the Ely Walker plant in Illmo and nine years for the Florsheim Shoe factory in Cape Girardeau. She also worked in the nursing home field for Lutheran Home, Jackson Manor, Fountainbleau Lodge, Heartland Care and Rehab and Monticello House in Jackson. She also volunteered at Jackson Manor and was recognized for her volunteer work. In her early years, she was a "little farmer girl", as she helped her parents on the farm.
She was a member of Christ Evangelical Church and Mary Martha Circle.
Survivors include cousins, Bonnie (Brian) Stahlman of Cape Girardeau, Marvin (Carolyn) Best Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Norma (Allen) Thieret, Wilma (Dave) Edmonds, Leon (Janice) Hennecke, Wanda (Russ) McCampbell and Brenda (John) Smith.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the funeral home, with Pastor Debra Tracy officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
