SIKESTON, Mo. — Terry Ladd Propst, 77, of Sikeston passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 22, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late George Thurman and Jo Bollinger Propst. On Aug. 26, 1966, in Marble Hill, Missouri, he married Brenda Sue Ragsdale Propst. SIKESTON, Mo. — Terry Ladd Propst, 77, of Sikeston passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 22, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late George Thurman and Jo Bollinger Propst.

On Aug. 26, 1966, in Marble Hill, Missouri, he married Brenda Sue Ragsdale Propst. She survives of the home in Sikeston.

Terry was a member of Morley (Missouri) Baptist Church.

He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1968 and in 1969 was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving two years.

He was band director for Scott County Central High School for more than 30 years before retiring in 2009. He enjoyed golfing, playing music with his sons, being music director at Morley Baptist Church, trout fishing with his sons and grandsons and going to auctions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David (Peggy) Propst of Cape Girardeau and Darrin (Molly) Propst of Dexter, Missouri; brother, Mitchell (Deronda) Propst of Dexter; four grandchildren, Presley Propst of Cape Girardeau, Brooks (Erin) Propst of St. Louis, Travis (Rylie) Propst of Cape Girardeau and Kyla Propst of Dexter; and one great-grandchild, Jesse Propst.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Travis Propst.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Pallbearers will be Presley Propst, Brooks Propst, Travis Propst, David Propst, Mitchell Propst and Darrin Propst.
