Dorothy Faye Shaffar, 97, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 11, 1926, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Leslie and Nora Woodord Frazier.

She and Laddie Heartwell Shaffar were married. He preceded her in 1967. She and Stanley "Pete" D. Shaffar were married June 30, 1973, in Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death Aug. 14, 2012.

She was a nurse in Sikeston, St. Louis and Texas.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, Michael H. (Linda) Shaffar of Cape Girardeau and Robert (Judy) Shaffar of St. Claire, Missouri; daughter, Janean Shaffar of St. Louis; sister, Dorris Jackson of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Linda Gastreich officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
