Norma Jean Bankston, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at Ratliff Care Center. She was born June 12, 1933, in Bell City, Missouri, to James Wesley and Lillie Goff Steward. Norma was employed at Southeast Hospital for 28 years. Survivors include four children, son, Tom (Dianna) Hale of Jackson; daughter, Pat (Jim) Glueck of Moulton, Texas; daughter, Rose Martin, and son, Michael Hale, both of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, Kristi (Brad) Anderle of Moulton, Alisha (Wesley) Rothbauer of Gonzales, Texas, Jaime (Justin) Anderle of Shiner, Texas, Shelley Bruce-Wells (Pete) and Brandi Bruce, both of Silver Springs, Florida, Nola (Eugene) Haley of Cape Girardeau, Tara Clover of Perryville, Missouri, Michael Rhymer of McClure, Illinois, and Michelle (Ethan) Poppen of Elkville, Illinois; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.. ...

Norma Jean Bankston, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born June 12, 1933, in Bell City, Missouri, to James Wesley and Lillie Goff Steward.

Norma was employed at Southeast Hospital for 28 years.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Thomas Hale, Don Pind and Russell Bankston; daughter, Dorrliss (Cisy) Ware; sons-in-law, Danny Ware and Ronnie Martin; three grandchildren, Lorne Cochran, Jason and Honey Martin; three sisters, Dollie Lowves, Rosybell Stephens and Ruth Jauch; and five brothers, Joe, John, Herb, James and Norman Steward.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 25, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Graveside service will be at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
