Bob was a 1960 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He honorably served six years in the Missouri Army National Guard.

Bob was a lifelong truck driver. He drove for O'Loughlin Farms, Sealtest, Litz Poultry and Kasten's. He retired several years ago, but still liked to drive, so he kept driving part time, "officially retiring" from Paving Pro's in 2021.
