Chad Michael Sides, 51, of Jackson passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at his home.

He was born Dec. 12, 1972, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Michael E. and Margaret Marie Clayton Sides.

He was a 1991 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 19 years at Eastern Missouri Industries before becoming disabled in 2010.

On April 29, 2011, Chad married his best friend and soul mate, Kimberly, and together they raised Kimberly's daughter, Ashley.

Chad's family and friends will remember him as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Those closest to him would say that he was a man of few words, who always seemed to have a quick one-liner to make you chuckle.

Loving survivors include his wife, Kimberly; a daughter, Ashley (Michael) Newell of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; grandsons, Gabe, Gavin and Anakin; his father, Michael Sides of Jackson; a sister, Sherri (Keith) Mayfield of Jackson; two nephews, Cody (Brittney) Mayfield and their children, Jaci and Kyson, and Blake (Macie) Mayfield and their children, Kaydon, Mya, Kole and Ty.

Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Sides; maternal grandparents, Hubert and Ruby Clayton; and paternal grandparents, Clyde and Winifred Sides.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Southeast Missouri PETS, formerly the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
