Dorothy Pauline Knight, 94, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Glen Allen, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born June 10, 1929, in Anderson, Indiana, to Dave and Rosie Farmer Letgrate. She married Earl Faire, the father of her children. Later in life, she married Amzie Knight.

Pauline was a homemaker and loved to cook, bake and entertain. She was quite the hostess. She also loved to sing and was the song leader in her church for many years.

She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three sons, David L. (Pat) Faire and Ronnie J. (Pamelo Jo) Faire, both of Sikeston, and the Rev. Darrell E. (Sheila) Faire Sr. of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Kathy Faire of Sikeston; sister, Peggy Irby of Farmington; seven grandchildren, Wendy Faire, Angel (Chris) Payne, Dena (Tony) Hernandez, Chad (Kathy) Faire, Crystal Shanks, Darrell (Danni) Faire Jr. and LaDonna Faire; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Earl Faire; her husband, Amzie Knight; son, Eddie Faire; daughter, Diane Stricklin; two brothers, Otis and Ernest Letgrate; and one sister, Frances Friend.

Friends may call from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau, 3054 Lexington Ave. in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the church. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Glen Allen Cemetery in Glen Allen.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Pentecostal Church in Cape Girardeau.
