She had great love for Jesus and helping children, teaching religion class to second-graders for 16 years. She served as a camp counselor at Camp ReNewAll, PTO president at school and a member of the Ladies' Sodality at her church. She was selfless and would sacrifice for others, especially her family.

Joyce held various jobs in her life, but her most prized vocations were stay-at-home mom and grandmother. She loved all her children and grandchildren fiercely yet with patience and kindness. She always had wise advice for those who were struggling.

She loved listening to music, especially Elvis and Michael Buble. Anyone who knew Joyce knew she had a green thumb and loved all her rose bushes and flowers she worked hard to nurture. She also loved watching birds outside. She was a bright light to all who were in her life.

Visitation was Monday, Jan. 22, and funeral Mass on Tuesday, Jan. 23, at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
