Donald Jeffries Sr.

Donald L. Jeffries Sr., 70, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1953, in Stanford, Kentucky, to Howard and Martha Ellis Jeffries. He and Annette Robertson were married Jan. 29, 1977, in Carson City, Nevada.

Donald grew up in Hustonville, Kentucky, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and being stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. Upon his discharge, he began a career as a bus driver, transporting the elderly and handicapped. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Annette Jeffries; son, Donald (Amber) Jeffries Jr.; two daughters, Jennifer Jeffries and Judi (John) Svendsen of Cincinnati; brothers, William (Lois) Jeffries, Lowell Jeffries and Orville (Judy) Jeffries; sister, Henrietta (Joe) Burch; along with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Pinson and Jesse Edwards.

A memorial visitation will from noon to 3 p.m., with military honors to be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 15, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The family asks all memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
