FRUITLAND, Mo. -- Fruitland Livestock Auction, Wednesday receipts, 558; last week, 374; last year, 406. Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers sold steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower and bulls sold 2.00 lower; Demand and supply light. Cows made up approximately 14 percent of the run, feeders 86 percent. Steers made up approximately 56 percent of the offering, Holsteins 1 percent, and heifers 43 percent. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 38 percent.

Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1 500-550 lbs 96.00-98.25. Medium and large 1-2 225-250 lbs 108.00-116.00; 300-400 lbs 100.00-110.00; 400-500 lbs 91.75-101.00; 500-600 lbs 84.00-90.00; 650-700 lbs 85.50-90.75; 750-800 lbs 80.25-88.25; 800-825 lbs 63.25-65.50; pkg 919 lbs 77.00. Medium and Large 2 350-400 lbs 86.50-97.75; 425-500 lbs 82.00-91.00; 650-700 lbs 80.00-85.00.

Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower, slaughter bulls sold 2.00-3.00 lower; Demand and supply moderate. Cows and bulls made up approximately 8 percent of the run, 92 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 51 percent, and 49 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 17 percent.
