WHITTINGTON, Ill. -- Mazie Smith, 100, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at Eldercare in Marble Hill, Mo. She was born March 17, 1901, in Whittington, Ill., daughter of William and Libbie Taylor Whittington. Survivors include a sister, Mae Taylor of Ewing, Ill.; and three grandsons, William L. WHITTINGTON, Ill. -- Mazie Smith, 100, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at Eldercare in Marble Hill, Mo.

She was born March 17, 1901, in Whittington, Ill., daughter of William and Libbie Taylor Whittington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
