George Bertling

SYCAMORE, Ill. -- George G. Bertling, 73, of Sycamore died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at his home.

He was born April 29, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Walter and Arnetta Bertling.

Bertling was a retired electrician, and member of IBEW Local 364. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ellen Renner of Swansea, Ill.; a sister, Betty Morris of Atoka, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marty Von Bertling; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral was held Monday at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Belleville, Ill. The Rev. Gary Byers officiated. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
