Helen Harris

JACKSON, Mo. -- Helen Virginia Harris, 75, of Jackson died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of Daniel and Willia Segraves Courter. She and Roy Charles Harris were married May 11, 1946, in Piggott, Ark. He died May 9, 1996.

Mrs. Harris moved to Jackson in 1967 from Poplar Bluff, Mo. She was a homemaker and member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Gochenauer of Bridgeton, Mo., Connie Crader of Fenton, Mo.; three sisters, Maxine Barber and Wilma Van Pool of Dexter, Mo., Wanda Green of Wappapello, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Thomas Adam Gochenauer and Maria Nicole Mantia.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Northcutt will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Lodge or New McKendree United Methodist Church.
