DELTA, Mo. -- Charles Amos Moore, 86, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Delta, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at the Lutheran Home. DELTA, Mo. -- Charles Amos Moore, 86, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Delta, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born July 1, 1915, near Delta, Mo., son of Charles and Anna F. Bock Moore. He and Imogene Hector were married May 5, 1931. She preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1998.

Moore was a longtime member and deacon at the First Baptist Church in Delta. He later joined Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Moore farmed his entire life, beginning with the Henderson Farms at Delta. He then, along with his wife, moved to her family farm, the Hector Farm. He farmed and lived there until retiring and moving to Cape Girardeau in 1988.

Survivors include a son, John W. Moore of Delta; three brothers, Leonard F. Moore and Everett M. Moore, both of Cape Girardeau, and George W. Moore of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters, Gail (Larry) Dalton of Rock City, Ill. and Kay (Darin) Gant, of Scott City, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Quincy Dalton of Rock City, Ill.; and Rylie Gant and Jessie Gant, both of Scott City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park.
