JACKSON, Mo. -- Charles Leon Eifert, 69, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was formerly of Scott City, Mo. He was born Feb. 23, 1932, at Illmo, Mo., son of Paul Casper and Hattie Bretzel Eifert. He and Delores Selena Keesee were married Dec. 20, 1958, in Cape Girardeau...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Charles Leon Eifert, 69, of Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was formerly of Scott City, Mo.

He was born Feb. 23, 1932, at Illmo, Mo., son of Paul Casper and Hattie Bretzel Eifert. He and Delores Selena Keesee were married Dec. 20, 1958, in Cape Girardeau.

Eifert was an engineer with Cotton Belt Railroad, and a partner in Eifert-Mayfield Construction.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Eifert served in the National Guard from 1952-55.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Eifert of Jackson; two daughters, Tambra Eifert of Rolla, Mo., Lori Martin of Jackson; a brother, Raymond Eifert of Scott City; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today, and Saturday after 8:30 a.m. at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Robert Henrichs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
