Too much stress

A POLICE officer stopped me last week and told me that my license tags had expired. My tags are due in October. Please educate the policemen so they won't stop people unnecessarily and cause stress.

Frightening media

THE TV media tell us not to panic or fear, but then they tell us all about smallpox and show pictures of people afflicted with it. It's enough to scare anyone. And they're giving out too much information to the terrorists about how much vaccine we have prepared in the country.

St. Louis needs NBA

I'M NOT a big NBA fan. College basketball is leaps and bounds a better game to watch. However, I think it would be beneficial for St. Louis to acquire an NBA team. The best sports town in the United States has been missing a pro basketball team for some years now. I think an NBA team would do well in such a great city.

Police encounter

YOU PEOPLE fail to see the point. I've been followed all over town by police. I abide by the laws. Not only do they follow you, but they follow you so closely it is dangerous. I pulled off the side of the road yesterday just to get one of these people off my bumper. He pulled in behind me to ask what I was doing. If I was not breaking any laws, then he had no reason to confront me. I was simply pulling off the road so I didn't have to worry about him hitting me. I don't have a single ticket, but I've been pulled over for petty things and treated like dirt by our police. You can give them praises all day long, but I have no respect for them in Cape Girardeau or Southeast Missouri. Perhaps you need to visit other areas where they have police who are worthy of respect and have public safety at heart. Around here it's people who get a thrill from carrying a gun and throwing their weight around.

It's not acceptable

TO PRAY that God will deliver homosexuality from Christianity is blasphemous. God condemns it. It's listed in the Bible as being as big a sin as theft, lying and even murder. In fact, two cities were destroyed in the Bible because of it. It's not acceptable to God, and it is not acceptable to me.

Freedom for all

THANKS FOR all the comments in support of the gay and lesbian community. It is sad that in a country so preoccupied with fighting terrorism and the oppression by religious nuts in another country, we don't even realize how many there are right here in the United States. Keep the positive words coming, and don't forget that freedom is for everyone.
