RANDLES, Mo. -- Truman D. Slinkard, 67, of Cahokia, Ill., died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1933, at Randles, son of Orville and Edna Brightwell Slinkard.

Slinkard retired as a mechanic from Missouri Machinery and Engineering Co. in St. Louis.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include a son, Michael Slinkard Sr. of Imperial, Mo.; three daughters, Robin Brown of Cahokia, Kimberly Slinkard of Lincoln, Ill., Vicki Jansen of Alton, Ill.; a sister, Ruth Wheat of Fenton, Mo.; four brothers, Leonard Slinkard of Concord, N.C., Ray Slinkard of Valley Park, Mo., Charles Slinkard of St. Charles, Mo., Alan Slinkard of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Seabaugh and Agnes Sides of Jackson, Mo.; a brother-in-law, David Fox of Georgia; five grandchildren, William, Randy, Michael Jr., Meagan, Cameryn; our dear uncle, cousin and friend.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 4:30-9 p.m. Sunday at Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
