Johnson, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at the VA Medical Center Nursing Center in Marion, Ill. He was formerly of McClure, Ill.

His body was donated to SIU School of Medicine in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born Sept. 25, 1927, at Dongola, Ill., son of Elzy William and Cora Elizabeth Little Johnson.
