JACKSON, Mo. -- Lorene O. Crites, age 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson. Friends may call today between 4-8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and Wednesday after 8:30 a.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. JACKSON, Mo. -- Lorene O. Crites, age 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson. Friends may call today between 4-8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and Wednesday after 8:30 a.m.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Dr. Brian Anderson will officiate.

Loving survivors include a son, Cletus Crites of Cape Girardeau; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Irene and Robert Menge of St. Charles and Juanita and A.J. Westrich, and Wilma Brugger, all of Jackson.

Also surviving is one brother, Ivan Rion, and sister, Edith Rion, both of Hendersonville, Tenn., and sister Martha Kennon of Farmington, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Crites was born June 24, 1914, at Farmington, Mo., daughter of Oscar and Bertha Wood Rion. She and Elmer Crites were married Dec. 29, 1934. Mr. Crites passed away April 7, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Hilda McClain, in 1996; a son-in-law, Jerry Brugger, in 1980; and two brothers.

Mrs. Crites worked 37 years at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson, retiring in 1979. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and its Mary-Martha Circle.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
