SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston man was arrested Wednesday after police found about a quarter-pound of marijuana in his home, said the department of public safety.

Lee Horton, 28, of 208 Moore St., faces charges of possession with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school.

Department of Public Safety director Drew Juden said officers from Sikeston police and the Scott County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant at the home, seized the drugs and arrested Horton.

His house is within two blocks of the Sikeston Alternative School.

Horton remains in the Scott County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Juden said the investigation continues, and more arrests are possible.
