Nathalie Hipes

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Nathalie Margaret Hipes, 89, of Chaffee died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born May 3, 1912, in Harrisburg, Ill., daughter of Joseph and Florence Wilhelm Bolton.

She was the owner and operator of Chaffee Floral Shop until she retired in December 1962.

She and Morris Hipes were married Jan. 27, 1934. He died Feb. 9, 1971.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee. Hipes also belonged to the ladies auxiliary of VFW Post 3127 and American Legion Post 389.

Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Hampton of Chaffee, and a daughter-in-law, Betty Hipes of Florissant, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Cliff Day officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
