After two decisive defeats, Perryville's Lady Pirates were able to finally salvage a victory Saturday afternoon on the final day of the HealthSouth Holiday Classic at the Show Me Center.

Seventh-seeded Perryville, trailing 34-20 at halftime, stormed back to nip Jackson's junior varsity 48-47 in the seventh-place game of the eight-team tournament.

The Lady Pirates (4-5) were led offensively by April Lorenz with 12 points. Amanda Nuyt added nine points, all on 3-point baskets.

Jackson's JV, despite being a late addition to the tourney and the No. 8 seed, made a solid showing as the Lady Indians lost to Farmington by just two points in the consolation semifinals.

Jennifer Ferrell hit five 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Lady Indians, who were outscored 21-6 in a decisive third quarter. Linden Hahs added 13 points for Jackson.

Also Saturday, in the consolation final to decide fifth and sixth place, sixth-seeded Massac County (Ill.) knocked off No. 5 Farmington 52-42.

Amber Karnes led three Eagle Ridge Christian players in double figures with 20 points as the host Lady Eagles romped.

The Lady Eagles (6-2) also got 16 points and 10 rebounds from Cara Ervin while Rachel Carbaugh added 10 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WARRENTON CHRISTIAN 69, EAGLE RIDGE 58

Dane Brumagin was a one-player wrecking crew for Warrenton Christian in its victory over Eagle Ridge Christian.

Brumagin, a do-it-all 6-foot-3 player, poured in 55 points -- including six 3-pointers -- to lead the visitors.

Eagle Ridge (4-6) got 21 points and 17 rebounds from Andrew Mellies while Mike Probst added 18 points.
