William Evans Jr.

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- William Lawrence Evans Jr., 74, of Bloomfield died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

He was born Jan. 7, 1927, at Fairview, Mo., son of William L. and Velma Mae Jackson Evans. He and Geraldine Simmers were married April 17, 1948.

He was a retired employee of the Missouri State Highway Department and a member of the Fairview Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Evans of Bloomfield; a brother, Kenneth Evans of Cypress, Texas; and a sister, Carros Worley of Bloomfield.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Puxico, Mo.
