JACKSON, Mo. -- Robert Glenwood Aubuchon, 86, of Jackson died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

He was born Aug. 16, 1915, at Bonne Terre, Mo., the son of Dr. Shelby D. and Gertrude Wigger Aubuchon.

He married Gladys Miller on Dec. 24, 1946, at Cape Girardeau.

He worked as a high school guidance counselor in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was awarded two Bronze stars and also served in the Pacific Theater campaign.

He graduated from Helena Public High School in Helena, Mont., in 1934. He graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., with a bachelor of science degree and from the University of Missouri with a master's degree in guidance counseling.

Survivors include his wife of Jackson; two sons, Robert M. Aubuchon of Ennis, Texas, and David K. Aubuchon of Reno, Nev.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Andy Pratt will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with a military service by VFW Post 3838.
