Guy Weeks

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Guy Weeks, 91, of Dongola died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 26, 1910, in Marion, Ky., son of Frederick Lee and Manie Lenore Riley Weeks. He and Verda Nunn were married in June 1933. She died Dec. 2, 1999.

Weeks retired as a mechanic with Illinois Department of Transportation. He had also been a mechanic at the former Karraker Chevrolet. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as a deacon.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Hileman and Shirley Claunch of Anna, Ill.; a sister, Lawanda Fowler of East Prairie, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Sadler and Everett Frizzell will officiate. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery.
