GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Clayton Richardson, 89, of Grand Chain died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Southgate Care Center in Metropolis, Ill. He is the son of Elwood and Cora Jones Richardson. He married Kathryn Reichert. Richardson retired from EEI in Joppa, Ill. GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Clayton Richardson, 89, of Grand Chain died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Southgate Care Center in Metropolis, Ill.

He is the son of Elwood and Cora Jones Richardson. He married Kathryn Reichert.

Richardson retired from EEI in Joppa, Ill. He was a member of St. Catherine Church in Grand Chain, Illinois Farm Bureau and Operating Engineers Local 148 in Harrisburg, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Shumaker of Grand Chain; a son, Lloyd Richardson of Grand Chain; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Prayers will be said at 6:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Church. Msgr. Bill McGhee will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
