EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Herbert Haney, 72, of East Prairie died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Dec. 27, 1929, at Commerce, Mo., son of Oliver and Gladys Hockersmith Haney. He and Genevieve Woods were married June 12, 1953.

Haney was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Haney of Charleston, Mo.; six brothers, Cecil, Paul, David and Donnie Haney, all of East Prairie, Dan Haney of Charleston, Ronnie Haney of Barlow, Ky.; two sisters, Doris Lynch of Sikeston, Mary Clayton of North Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday.

Graveside rites will be conducted at IOOF Cemetery near Charleston, with Mark Odle officiating.
