Herman McIntyre, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo.

He was born June 12, 1918, at Chaffee, Mo., son of Marvin Franklin and Della Mae McNeal McIntyre. He and M. Maxine Goehman were married Dec. 23, 1941, at Jackson. She died Dec. 16, 1997.

McIntyre served in the U.S. Army. He attended Word of Faith Fellowship, worked as a watchman for Lapierre Handle Factory in Jackson until retiring in 1983 and also worked for the Missouri Dry Dock and various sawmills.

Survivors include four sons, Howard McIntyre, Gary McIntyre and Bradley McIntyre, all of Cape Girardeau, and Roger McIntyre of Jackson; five daughters, Judy Biester of Whitewater, Mo., Sue Heisserer of New Hamburg, Mo., Teresa Payne of Sedgewickville, Mo., Linda Kight of Delta, Mo., and Delona Mills of Jackson; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Rocky Tallent officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
