OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Lloyd L. Sichling, 76, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at his home.

He was born Oct. 31, 1925, at Grand Chain, Ill., son of Irving Earl and Martha Ellen File Sichling. He and Violet Hofer were married July 1, 1949.

Sichling was a carpenter more than 25 years with Newburg Construction Co. of Phoenix, Ariz. He was a member of the Carpenters Union.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served under the Navy Seals in underwater demolition.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gayle Homberg of Park Forest, Ill., Suzanne Williams of Casa Grande, Ariz.; three brothers, Phillip Sichling of Pulaski, Ill., Loren Sichling of Granite City, Ill., Will Sichling of Flora, Ill.; two sisters, Donna West of Dongola, Ill., Muriel Oakes of Arizona City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Richard Keplinger officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery east of Dongola.
